They scoot inches at a time Waves beckoning Sand incubation finished Only about one-sixth Will make it unscathed. Shore birds, seagulls, foxes. Mother birthed them Sand covered them Swept over them Left them. Time passing. Many beautiful sunsets Reflected in wet sands. And what will they find In heaving ocean waters? Growth. Experience. Exploring. Delicious saline treats. Threats. Reproduction. Lacking romance. Repeating the cycle. Under God’s masterful Eye. And art, and precision.
