Martens

 

He used to keep for martens

Apartments up a pole

And sweet their song

Sam urged them on

Their sounds would lift the soul.

Their antics ever changing

Just like the block you know

Some games, some kids

Some struggles.

The neighbours loved them so.

Now Sam committed bachelor

Without a brood to lead

Enjoyed these little partners

To watch, to learn, to feed.
