Eyes Peeled

Late one night

A blood red lunar eclipse

Definite for our region

But cloud cover

Messed it up.

Much advertised

Much missed.

Just like a summer

Meteor shower

Years back.

And a night’s drive

To a country vantage

But foggy letdown.

Kids thought Dad

Was losing it.

Natural occurrences

Special and miraculous.

Hold on now.

Just observe

Even at tiny levels.

Spring’s crocus

June bug wandering

Woodlot peeper frogs

Red breast grosbeak with

Snappy brilliance hidden.

Willow draping gold.

Onslaught of leafy green.

Keep peeled the eyes

Friends.

Turn off the radio.

Turn off the monitor.

Live in its midst.
